We believe the Vieux Port is one of the top attractions of Marseille. When the sun is shining the place is excellent to have a drink on one of the terraces with views on the Notre Dame de la Garde in the hills. Don't under estimate the distances, the complete tour of the Vieux Port will take you at least one hour.
Some of the historical buildings are impressive and we enjoyed the promenade around the fort. The inner port has hundreds of small boats for all kind of purposes: fishing, sightseeing and just relaxing. Most of them are privately owned. In the heart of the port stands a giant Ferris wheel.
We zijn er van overtuigd dat de Oude Haven één van de top attracties is van Marseille. Als het zonnetje schijnt is dit een uitstekende plaats om te aperitieven op een terras met het zicht op Notre Dame de la Garde in de heuvels. Onderschat echter de afstanden niet, wandelen rond de Oude Haven neemt minstens één uur in beslag.
Sommige historische gebouwen zijn indrukwekkend en we genoten van het wandelpad rond het fort. De binnenhaven telt honderden kleine bootjes voor allerlei doeleinden: vissen, toerisme en ontspanning. De meeste zijn privé eigendom. In het hart van de haven staat een reuzenrad.
