Irpu falls at the base of Brahmagiri hill Posted: 06 Aug 2015 08:56 AM PDT 25th July 2015 A well known waterfall in Kodagu district. I had seen this falls twice before, once while climbing Brahmagiri. But my earlier visits were during winter months when the flow of water was moderate. Irpu falls is about 48 km from Virajpet. The route is Gonikoppa-> Ponnampet-> Srimangala. If you are coming from Nagarahole, take a diversion at Kutta. The entry to the falls is restricted by forest department. Tourists have to pay entry fees and walk for about 3/4 km on clear path to reach the falls. A view point is constructed to view the falls at a distance. One can also go nearby and play in water. For religious people, there is Rameshwara Temple at the entrance. |
