The castle of Ljubljana is constructed on a hill top overlooking the city center. All buildings have been renovated and are now museums or restaurants. During spring and summer it is nice to enjoy a drink or meal on the inner courtyard.
The church of the castle is small with an impressive clock tower. Inside, the painted ceiling is showing us the family trees of the nobles who lived here. The colors are appealing.
It is a nice day and we are going to walk from the castle into the city center. There is a trail behind the castle. It takes about twenty minutes but take into account that the way back up hill is a lot harder.
Het kasteel van Ljubljana is gebouwd op een heuvel, neerkijkend over de stad. Alle gebouwen werden gerenoveerd en zijn nu musea of restaurants. Gedurende de lente en zomer is het leuk hier op het binnenplein een drankje of maaltijd te nuttigen.
De kerk van het kasteel is klein met een indrukwekkende kloktoren. Binnen is het plafond beschilderd met een familie stamboom van de adel die hier woonde. De kleuren zijn heel aantrekkelijk.
Het is een mooie dag en wij gaan van het kasteel naar het stadscentrum wandelen. Er ligt een wandelpad achter het kasteel. De wandeling duurt ongeveer 20 minuten maar houd er rekening mee dat de terugweg naar boven veel zwaarder is.
