Restaurant Athenian on Pike's Market, Seattle

This traditional fish restaurant and bar on Pike's Market is extremely popular. When we arrived for lunch, there stood about 40 people in front of us waiting for a table. Restaurant Athenian was founded in 1909 and is still an icon. The interior is very basic, dark wood but with nice views on the waterfront.

Being in Seattle, we decided to try different local specialties like smoked salmon, shrimps and King Crab. No fine dining or food presentation but pure product. We enjoyed the fish and seafood. The wine was also good and not overpriced like in many establishments in this city.
