Even though this is the second time we visit Bridgetown, we again enjoy the diversity and colorful setting. Most houses are painted in bright colors and people always laugh. It is a paradise for souvenir hunters and women who like to buy special summer clothing. You can find most shops on Broad and Swan Street.
Next to the beaches and port, Bridgetown also has several historical buildings and monuments like the Parliament and cathedral. In this climate we recommend to drink lots of water but the national beer is Banks and Barbados is also well known for its rum. A few weeks ago we were in France and the sommelier paired our dessert with a 30 year old rum from .... yes, Barbados.
Zelfs dat we nu voor de tweede keer Bridgetown bezoeken, kunnen we nog steeds genieten van de diversiteit en kleurrijke omgeving. Bijna alle huizen zijn in felle kleuren overschilderd en mensen goedlachs. Dit is het paradijs voor souvenirjagers en vrouwen die van zomer kledij houden. Je vindt de meeste winkels op Broad en Swan Street.
Naast het strand en de haven, biedt Bridgetown verscheidene historische gebouwen en monumenten aan zoals het parlement en de kathedraal. In dit klimaat raden we aan veel water te drinken maar het nationale bier is Banks en Barbados staat ook gekend voor zijn rum. Een paar weken geleden waren we in Frankrijk en de somemlier paarde ons dessert met een 30 jaar oude rum van .... ja ja, Barbados.
